Here’s a little history on this now-so-familiar logo.

Paul McCartney's friend, Robert Fraser, a gallery owner in London, knowing how much Paul loved the artist, René Magritte, brought him an original Magritte as a gift. The painting was called, Le jeu de mourre, and was of a big green apple with the words "Au revoir" painted in script across the front.

Paul later explained that the green apple from that treasured painting became the inspiration for the logo, and stood for a notion of creative freedom and independence from commercial interests. He later commissioned Gene Mahon to design the Apple record labels, with this painting as inspiration.

Apple Records launched in the summer of 1968. It was first used on the single ‘Hey Jude’/’Revolution’.

It also looks great on this tee. Each shirt features a sweet apple green front print on a men's standard-fit, 100% cotton t-shirt. Officially licensed merchandise.
