This picture, taken by Tom Morton, is one of very few professional live shots taken of The Beatles that has never been published. The band was scheduled to play Cincinnati on Saturday, August 20, 1966, but because of a torrential rain storm and the risk of electrocution, they rescheduled for a Sunday day show. Unfortunately for Mr. Morton, this meant that he didn’t have the opportunity to spend the day shooting them and was only left with the opportunity to shoot the show that evening. The storms that hit Cincinnati made their way to St. Louis and, if you look closely, you can see the weather in the image. The beauty of this image isn’t only in subject, but also in the distinctive architecture of Busch Stadium, seen in the top left of the image.
